Think about this offering. As a 1982 Lincoln Mark VI it represents one of the most luxurious American cars you could buy that year, made more exclusive by the high end Bill Blass package. It is a rust-free vehicle that resided in Texas until 2021 and shows a mere 56k miles. And it is powered by Ford’s classic 5.0L V8 with an automatic overdrive transmission and 8.8” rear end, combining for a reliable powertrain with respectable performance. Now put that all together and consider you can own this car for less than $15k!
This Lincoln is very attractive with its Bill Blass two-tone white and red paint. It also has the optional white vinyl top with simulated convertible ribs. Up front is the classic Lincoln grille flanked by hidden headlights. Other distinguishing features include fender gills and a rounded trunk lid with Continental badging. The car has seen one repaint and does exhibit some touched-up road rash on the leading surfaces. The frame and floors look amazing due to a near-lifetime in Texas, and the Autocheck report shows a clean history since new. The wire wheel covers give it an elegant look while the Uniroyal white stripe tires have 2022 date codes.
Power comes from Ford’s classic 5.0L V8. This fuel injected engine is both durable and easy to maintain, especially when compared to its European counterparts. The same goes for the 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and 8.8” rear end. The Lincoln suspension uses coil springs front and rear and has been fitted with four new shock absorbers. It offers a very soft ride, while in typical Lincoln fashion the power steering and power front disc brakes offer plenty of boost. Driving doesn’t get much easier!
The interior continues the two-tone Bill Blass theme. The leather seats are extremely comfortable and resemble a living room chair more than an automotive seat. Note the hides show some discoloration consistent with 40-year-old white leather, but they remain soft and free of any tears. The plush black carpeting and dark woodgrain inserts provide a nice contrast to the other bright surfaces. This Mark VI is loaded with features including a digital dashboard, trip computer, AM/FM stereo, keyless entry, cruise control, air conditioning, outside thermometer, power seats / windows / locks / mirrors / antenna, and more. Not only do all these features work, but keep in mind this was 1982 when all this represented optional equipment! You also get a factory CB radio with a removeable handset. All the usual features also work with the exception of the washers.
Again, this car represents a top-of-the-line Lincoln. It is a low mile turn-key example with a clean, rust-free history and a reliable drivetrain.
